Our May Champion Student of the Month is now a graduate of Conway High School, Cole Britt. You may recognize Cole from Friday night’s graduation, where he was featured on the jumbotron. He is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2026.

As a lifelong Wampus Cat, from kindergarten through graduation, we are incredibly proud of Cole and all he has accomplished, and we wish him nothing but the very best in the future.

Tonight, instead of a video, we were honored to hear directly from Cole as he shared about his journey as a Wampus Cat and his plans for the future.

Following his remarks, Cole led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

WAMPUS CAT PRIDE

We were honored to have Mr. John Kaminar, Public Information Coordinator with the AR Department of Education, to come and present Simon Middle School, Conway Junior High School, and Conway High School as Purple Star Schools. Purple Star Schools are public or charter schools that receive a special state designation for demonstrating a major commitment to supporting the unique educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected students.

We were honored to have Michelle Daugherty, Senior Account Executive with AY Media Group to help us celebrate being in the Top 3 of AY's Best of 2026 School District in the state.

Thank you Conway Public Schools and Community for voting for your favorite school district!

Tonight, we recognized one of our very own Wampus Cats, Jacob Smith from our Maintenance Department, for an incredible achievement at the Toad Suck Daze “Hands on a Hyundai” competition.

Jacob didn’t just participate—he won, after an unbelievable 79 hours of endurance, determination, and grit. At one point, he was down to the final two contestants, pushing past 70 hours and continuing through the night with the support of our amazing Wampus Cat community cheering him on every step of the way.

And through every single one of those 79 hours, Jacob proudly wore his Wampus Cat hat—representing our district with pride from start to finish. This entire event gave our Wampus Cat community something to rally around, something to be excited about, and someone to cheer for.

Jacob entered the competition to support the community, driven by his motto, “only the strong survive,” and a true passion for adventure. More than that, he showed us all what resilience really looks like.

If you watched the last 10-15 minutes of the competition, you know that it was a remarkably emotional ending. His perseverance, positive spirit, and commitment to seeing it through exemplify exactly what it means to be a Wampus Cat. We are incredibly proud of Jacob—not just for winning, but for representing our district with such strength and heart.

Tonight we recognized our Conway Educational Aspiring Leadership (CEAL) for their exceptional leadership and hard work. They took part in 8 sessions with District Leaders this year that has helped prepare them for future leadership within CPSD!
