Tonight, we recognized one of our very own Wampus Cats, Jacob Smith from our Maintenance Department, for an incredible achievement at the Toad Suck Daze “Hands on a Hyundai” competition.
Jacob didn’t just participate—he won, after an unbelievable 79 hours of endurance, determination, and grit. At one point, he was down to the final two contestants, pushing past 70 hours and continuing through the night with the support of our amazing Wampus Cat community cheering him on every step of the way.
And through every single one of those 79 hours, Jacob proudly wore his Wampus Cat hat—representing our district with pride from start to finish. This entire event gave our Wampus Cat community something to rally around, something to be excited about, and someone to cheer for.
Jacob entered the competition to support the community, driven by his motto, “only the strong survive,” and a true passion for adventure. More than that, he showed us all what resilience really looks like.
If you watched the last 10-15 minutes of the competition, you know that it was a remarkably emotional ending. His perseverance, positive spirit, and commitment to seeing it through exemplify exactly what it means to be a Wampus Cat. We are incredibly proud of Jacob—not just for winning, but for representing our district with such strength and heart.
